Nusret Yılmaz, one of the attorneys representing jailed Istanbul Mayor and CHP presidential candidate Ekrem İmamoğlu and his wife, Dilek İmamoğlu, has been released under judicial control measures.

Yılmaz was detained in Trabzon on Aug. 26 on charges of “mediating bribery” as part of a corruption investigation targeting the Istanbul Municipality. He was transferred to Istanbul for questioning, and on Aug. 27 a court ordered his release with a signature requirement and a travel ban.

Yılmaz’s detention came after the earlier arrest of İmamoğlu’s other lawyer, Mehmet Pehlivan, whose continued imprisonment was recently upheld.
