Terms of Service
Last updated: October 2026
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of turkeyindepth.com (the "Site"), our articles, weekly PDF issues, audio editions, newsletters and related services (together, the "Service"), published by Turkey In Depth ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account, requesting a trial, subscribing or otherwise using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.
1. The Service
Turkey In Depth is an independent digital publication providing news, analysis and commentary on Turkey's politics, economy, foreign policy, defence and society. Some content is freely available; other content, including premium articles, weekly PDF issues and audio editions, is reserved for subscribers.
2. Accounts
- You must provide accurate information when you register and keep your contact details up to date.
- You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for all activity under your account.
- Accounts are personal. You may not share your login credentials or allow others to access subscriber content through your account. Institutional access for multiple readers must be arranged with us in advance.
- You must be at least 18 years old, or have the consent of a parent or guardian, to open an account.
3. Free trials
Trial requests are reviewed by our team and may be approved, limited or declined at our discretion. A trial gives time-limited access to subscriber content as stated when it is granted. Some weekly issues may be excluded from trial access. Trials end automatically and do not convert into a paid subscription.
4. Subscriptions and payment
- Subscriptions are offered for the periods and prices shown on the Site or in a personal payment link sent by our team. Prices may be stated in Turkish lira, US dollars or euros.
- Payments are processed by our payment provider. We do not store your full card details.
- Your subscription becomes active once payment is confirmed and remains active until the end of the period you paid for. Subscriptions do not renew automatically and you will not be charged again unless you choose to renew.
- Personal payment links are issued to a specific account, may be used only once and expire after the period stated in the link.
- We may change prices for future subscription periods. Changes never affect a period you have already paid for.
5. Cancellation and refunds
Because a subscription gives immediate access to digital content, fees are not refundable once the subscription period has started, except where a refund is required by applicable consumer protection law. If you believe you were charged in error, contact us within 14 days and we will review your request in good faith.
6. Permitted use of content
All articles, weekly issues, audio editions, graphics, logos and the design of the Site are protected by copyright and belong to Turkey In Depth or its authors.
- You may read, download and print content for your own personal or internal professional use.
- Downloaded weekly issues are personalised to your account and must not be forwarded, uploaded, resold or otherwise distributed.
- You may quote short extracts with clear attribution to Turkey In Depth and a link to the original article.
- Any other reproduction, republication, systematic downloading, scraping or commercial use requires our prior written permission.
7. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- attempt to bypass access controls, paywalls, rate limits or other security measures;
- access the Service with automated tools other than standard search engine crawlers that respect our robots.txt;
- submit false information, impersonate another person or create accounts on behalf of others without authorisation;
- use the Service to send unlawful, defamatory, abusive or misleading material, spam or malicious code.
We may suspend or terminate accounts that breach these Terms. Where a paid subscription is terminated for a serious breach, no refund is due.
8. Editorial independence and accuracy
Our content is produced for information and journalistic purposes. We work to high editorial standards and correct errors when they are brought to our attention, but we do not guarantee that the content is complete, current or free from error, and it does not constitute legal, financial, investment or other professional advice. Opinions expressed by columnists and guest contributors are their own.
9. Availability
We aim to keep the Service available at all times but may suspend it temporarily for maintenance, security or reasons beyond our control. We may change, add or remove features and content.
10. Limitation of liability
To the extent permitted by law, Turkey In Depth, its directors, editors and contributors are not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential loss arising from your use of, or inability to use, the Service. Our total liability to you in connection with a subscription is limited to the amount you paid for that subscription in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.
11. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time from your profile page. Deletion ends access to subscriber content immediately and does not entitle you to a refund for the remaining subscription period.
12. Privacy
We process personal data in accordance with the Turkish Personal Data Protection Law No. 6698 (KVKK) and, where applicable, the GDPR. Please see our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy.
13. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. The date at the top of this page shows when they were last changed. If changes materially affect active subscribers, we will notify them by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect means you accept the updated Terms.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Turkey. Disputes will be resolved by the competent courts and enforcement offices of the Republic of Turkey, without prejudice to any mandatory rights you have as a consumer.
15. Contact
