Roketsan has acquired the defense industry assets of Assan Group for $471 million through a tender opened by the Savings Deposit Insurance Fund (TMSF), which was appointed trustee after the company's seizure on August 27, 2025, as part of an investigation into military espionage and the Gülenist Movement.
Assan Group is a private producer of 155 mm artillery ammunition.
Following the acquisition, Roketsan will operate the Assan facilities through a newly established, 100% owned subsidiary, and will transfer new investments, technology, and infrastructure to the existing plants.
Roketsan will utilize these facilities to sustain the production of warheads for all its ballistic missiles, including the Tayfun missile, which is currently under development with a range approaching 1,000 km. The facilities will also host a suite of manufacturing lines, including Mk-series aircraft bombs, 107 mm and 122 mm rockets, GPS and guidance technologies, 155 mm guided howitzer ammunition, and chemical explosives production.
