Teknofest, Turkey’s flagship defense and technology festival organized by the T3 Foundation — whose board is chaired by Selçuk Bayraktar, son-in-law of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and head of Baykar — kicked off this year with a maritime focus under the theme “Blue Homeland.”
The 12th edition of Teknofest, first launched in 2018, opened at Istanbul Naval Shipyard Command, featuring the TCG Anadolu drone carrier and the navy’s most powerful frigates, which will remain on public display until Aug. 31.
Ahead of the opening, navy vessels staged a parade in the Bosphorus on Aug. 25, saluting Erdoğan. At the Aug. 28 opening ceremony, Erdoğan pledged to continue the fight against the PKK and declared: “We will not stop working until we make this century ‘the Century of Turkey.’ We will bring about a Turkey free of terrorism as our greatest achievement.”
