Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Abdulkadir Uraloğlu was fined 9,267 lira for speeding.
The minister inadvertently revealed himself by sharing a video he had prepared to promote the Ankara-Niğde highway on his social media account.
The video showed he was traveling up as fast as 224 km/h. The maximum speed limit on highways is 140 km/h.
In response to public complaints, Uraloğlu said he had unknowingly exceeded the speed limit only for a short time. He said that everyone must obey speed limits and he would be much more careful in the future.
